Green Energy; The Best Source Of Energy To Ensure A Clean World

Green energy is the way to go in today’s world. It is a method in which natural energy such as wind, solar, water and geothermal are used instead of other non-renewable sources of energy to heat or cool a house and run the everyday activities. Green energy is better for the earth and for the user.

Using green energy is easier today than it has ever been. In many cities and towns homeowners are taking advantage of the energy the sun has to offer. Solar power systems are compact now and they are not hard to install. You can harness solar power to heat water and produce electricity for a regular house. Solar panels are used to collect the sun’s rays and you can find them On line and at many home improvement stores. They should be installed by someone who knows what they are doing but homeowners can build their own panels for heating water.

Passive solar heating is very simple. If your house faces the south you can install efficient windows that will let the sunlight in during the day. Placing brick or stone on the south side of the house will soak up that heat and retain it until it is needed later when the sun goes down.

Power supplied by the wind is possible to use for home use. Windmills come in kits that even a homeowner can put together. The wind turns the windmill which makes electricity that can be used in the home. Windmills can stand alone in the back yard or be attached up on the roof. Any place that gets a breeze most of the time can take advantage of wind power.

Hydro power can also be used by homeowners who may have a stream. This is more involved than wind or solar power. The stream has to be one that moves down stream almost all the time and the maintenance is on the turbine that creates the energy so this is not a method that is usually used by normal households.

A great option is to use more than one renewable energy system to get the most use from it. Homeowners that use renewable sources for their energy find they save a great deal of money on heating and cooling and they also make profit from it. In most states in the United States the local energy department purchase any extra energy made by your green energy systems.

There is so little maintenance to renewable energy systems that it rivals regular electrical systems. Solar heating systems do not often need maintenance and wind and water systems only need a simple oiling on occasion. You will probably have more maintenance involved in a regular heating and cooling system.

If you rent you can not put a windmill in or solar panels on the roof. There are still some things you can do in order to reduce use of non renewable energy systems. Take all the regular light bulbs out and put in the newer, longer lasting ones. Instead of using paper plates and paper towels use ones that have to be washed. It takes a little more time but every little thing helps and maybe the landfills will not fill up as quickly. If you need a new car look into hybrids that stop emissions of harmful substances. All windows and doors should fit tightly and if they do not even a renter can put some caulk in the sills so that heat and cooling will not be able to get out. If you have a freezer make sure it is always full since it will run most efficiently that way. If it is not just fill it with jugs of water. It is important that we take care of the earth now so that it is there in the future. Using alternative energy is just one of the ways we can ensure the earth for days to come.

Help to save the world for future generations by using green energy sources. By putting more alternative energy sources to work instead of non-renewable sources, we can create a sustainable future.
