Systems with coolant natural circulation are widely used in countries with warm climates and a large number of clear days (eg, in Turkey, Greece, Egypt, Israel). In our climatic conditions systems with forced circulation are more effective ones.
If there is enough large amount of solar energy to heat water, for space heating or water heating in a swimming pool, the collector is often combined with other heat generators. For example, in the bivalent plants the extra heat could be given with hot water boiler that runs on liquid or gaseous fuels. Such a system solution allows provide homes with heating in winter.
Flat solar collectors are widely used today. They work well under normal solar intensity in the period from May to October, and, moreover they completely override the need for hot water in summer. In our climatic conditions, such systems are ideal for a summer home or seasonal home stay. Relatively low cost is their unquestionable advantage.
